I Always Forget I Have This Thing

And that's slightly surprising seeing as how I tend to have a lot to rant about, even when life is uneventful. Right now life is uneventful (big surprise, huh?)

Let's see, since March I've turned 21, quit Vera Bradley, started a third year at Mass Bay, and got a new job at Marshalls with my mom. There's still no sensed of accomplishment of any kind and still no guy.

It's pathetic that the happiest moment of my life this year was tied with watching David Cook win American Idol and seeing the man himself sporting the phoenix necklace I sent him in the mail. I swear, there are some days I'm sure it's him that gets me up and out of bed in the morning. The man have become a huge part of my life in the course of just a few months and while I'm grateful for everything he's unintentionally done for me, his role is that of the heart breaker. Why does it have to be this way? That when I finally can look at a man and say that he's perfect, that I wish to be with him, it's someone I can't have?

Now, to everyone, whether I know you personally or you just happened to come upon this journal entry, I'm not crazy. I'm not a psychotic, creepy stalker fan. Yes I wrote him a letter once, yes I sent him a message on his official website, and yes I went and saw the Idol concert tour twice, but that's the extent of it. I haven't sent another message or letter and I don't plan to anytime soon.

I'm a young adult with a big crush. As I've gotten older, I've seen how complex crushes become. In grade school all that mattered was whether he was cute. Then middle school he's got to be cute but nice as well. Then high school there's the confusion of trying to discover what qualities are most important. What kind of guy am I looking for? That's the constant question echoing in the back of the brain. I'm 21 now and I don't feel shallow in the least to admit that looks do matter to me. I'm not saying he has to be an Adonis but I believe physical attraction is important. I also believe that a person's personality (if beautiful) makes them more physically attractive because the inner beauty shines through.

Referring back to my childish yet adult crush on David Cook, I confess I wasn't drooling over his physical appearance the first time I saw him. I thought he was cute, and that thought was fleeting. Then he deemed himself the "Word Nerd" and I suddenly realized how boyishly handsome his smile was. Once I'd discovered the meaning behind the "AC" tattooed on his arm and branded on his guitar, the sparkle in his eyes became beautiful, his laugh was musical; I fell fast. He wore an orange band for a remarkable young lady with leukemia and wrote "Give Back" on his palm; I fell harder. He spoke intelligently, articulately in interviews and showed raw emotion on stage. There was more than one occasion that he shed tears on national television; I wanted to kiss them away.

Even after his win, a tour of the U.S., appearances on some of the biggest day and night shows on television, and endless encouragement and love from a legion of fans, he's remained a humble, gracious, beautiful human being. With every note he sings, every lyric he writes, every kind deed he does, every word he utters, he reinforces every aspect, every quality about him that I find attractive. In my eyes, he only becomes more handsome as time passes.

If dreams can come true and the seemingly impossible can be conquered, I'll cling onto the hope that maybe my heart knows something that I don't. Maybe one day our paths will cross and I'll have the opportunity to share with him all that I just wrote.

If not, I'll just hope that the man whose path does ultimately connect to mine doesn't come across this :)

Wow November 2006!

It seems that I go through long periods without posting in this thing. I spend a lot of time checking communities here on livejournal but I don't post entries as often as one probably should.

The sad thing is though, that in the year and a half or so that I've failed to write, not much has really changed. Nothing super drastic anyway. Let's see..

The new car has been crashed a few times. Nothing really bad. One time was my fault, the other times the other party was responsible.

I got a new job. My boss left Lindt to be manager at a Vera Bradley store and I went with her. Why? Because she was a great boss, and after a year and a half working in a chocolate shop, it was time for a change. Now it's all about handbags and after six months I'm starting to get burned out over there. I have no working drive or desire to do much of anything while I'm over there. It's pain enough having to be there not to mention corporate is going to be there this week to make things extra miserable.

All I want is a big break. After the pastry chef thing didn't work out I thought I wanted to be a teacher. Now, as much as I really do still love kids, I just can't see myself enjoying spending more than 3 hours with a bunch of eight year olds. Once I realized I didn't want to be a teacher, I went into this brief panic mode where I kept jumping from occupation to occupation thinking 'I can do that! Yeah, that's what I want to be!' For two days I had convinced myself I could be a great actress. All I would need to do was wait for auditions in my communities theater group and audition. Surely I'd be discovered that way. But then I realized that my being as shy as I am, that would never work and I didn't really want to be an actress anyways. Then, for almost an entire week I decided I was going to be a graphic designer, so I registered myself in a mass media course at school, and started a free trial of photoshop on my computer. I would have taken an art course but there were none available. So, I soon decided that that path wasn't for me. Graphic designers don't make that much and why be poor doing something I'm not really passionate about anyways? I'm really not even very artistic. Scratch another potential career off the list!

So, now my plan is to go another year at Mass Bay and attend Framingham State next fall. Get all the credits I can and transfer them over. That way at the state school I can take only those courses which I actually care about. I want to major in english. Maybe I'll become a freelance writer, writing novels on the side of course because it's my dream to become a famous author. You know, the next Jo Rowling, Stephenie Meyer, or Sophie Kinsella. I right now have a decent idea for a young adult fiction novel. It's just a matter of disciplining myself to work on it more often than I have been. I've always loved to write, so I'm almost positive that a career in writing actually is the "write" choice for me! At least I hope it is, because I don't think I can take anymore of this uncertainty I've been feeling since I gratuated high school.

Seriously, at this point in my life the only thing I'm certain of is that I want David Cook to win American Idol. That's pretty darn pathetic. Half the time I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I'm almost 21 and I still haven't really been in a relationship (something my mom was making me feel like a loser for the other day.) I'm still shy and quiet. I can't socialize well with other people at all even though I want so much to be able to. At work, everyone acts like best friends. They've all paired off into twos over there, hanging out with each other outside of work and calling one another fairly regularly. I haven't spent time with any of them outside work since January, and no matter how many times I check my cell phone, I haven't had any missed calls because no one ever calls me. I've even lost touch with Mandy! I have not talked to her since last October, something I thought would never happen. We used to hang out every day! She'd drop by my house with a new movie to watch and we'd just hang out. Now I'm nervous to call her because it's been so long since we've talked. It shouldn't be that way. It just shouldn't. I've got to call her this week.

So, this entry has been a lot longer than I had meant to make it, and much more pessimistic and depressing than it should have been. Oh well, I guess this is what journals are for. To rant and rave so you get all the stress and crap life throws at you off your chest.

On a good note, Alyssa is going to be in natick for a while and we're hanging out tomorrow. That'll be really nice, I've missed my best friend like crazy since she moved! American Idol is on tomorrow night too, and that's become a serious obsession that I truthfully enjoy having. So tomorrow, no work, my best friend, Barnes and Noble, and David Cook. I suppose life isn't ALL that bad :)

So, after three years of anxious waiting Josh Groban has finally come out with a new c.d. It's called "Awake," it sounds amazing, and everyone should go out and buy a copy. The man is amazing.

I met Nicholas Sparks on Sunday! He signed a book for me and let me take a picture with him. He's so nice :) Now, I've just gotta meet Josh Groban.

The mall was on fire yesterday! Not even kidding. When I drove up to the mall I noticed a few fire engines parked outside. Everyone was standing outside the building because it had to be evacuated. I found Mandy and we just chilled (literally, it was freezing outside!) until we could go back into the mall. It was fun. I'm just glad the fire happened yesterday and not today. I don't know what I'd do if all the new Josh Groban c.d.'s went up in flames.

Heather, at work is leaving :( She's my favorite person (next to mandy, of course) who I love working with. She's so goofy and fun and I can actually count on her and talk to her about anything. Now she's leaving to be a manager of her own Lindt store. So, I'm happy and excited for her but I'm really gonna miss her. I'm planning to by her a going away present, this is her last week. Hmm...a copy of the new Josh Groban c.d. perhaps?

Well...now that I think I've managed to incorporated Josh Groban into everything I've done the last few days, it's time to wrap up this entry.

One more day of work and then...

FREEDOM!! For 5 days anyways. It'll be nice to have some time off. I'm hoping to go a few places, bake some banana bread, give Alyssa her b-day presents, visit Luisa over at Roche Bros., and just hang out with my friends a bit.

I'm thinking of going to the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary. It's nearby and there are hiking trails and picnic areas, so that could be fun on a nice day. And the zoo! I want to go see the tiger exhibit at the Franklin Park Zoo! and I want to go to...Newbury Comics to sell some of my cds and dvds! :D

Yeah...

And I just might drag my friends along with me ;)

Well, my 5 day vacation is almost here! I've just got to get through tomorrow which really should be interesting. People from the company are coming to film a swiss chocolate chef person make chocolate IN THE STORE! She's actually going to be making chocolate. And people are going to be filming, and customers are going to be interviewed. It's kinda cool but annoying at the same time. I'll be running around the store all day tomorrow trying to dodge a video camera! YAY! Excitement!

Well anyways...I'm gonna get ready for bed. I've got to be well rested for the big day o fun tomorrow.

Movies, Movies, Movies

I basically lived at the movie theater over the weekend. On saturday night I saw "Cars" with Mandy. We were originally going to see "Superman Returns" but it was sold out at the IMAX :( So, we went to the AMC instead. "Cars" was actually really cute, better than I had expected it to be.

Of course, "Cars" was nowhere near as good as "Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest." I've seen it twice in the last 3 days which proves that I have no life and I get obsessed with things waay too easily. But it's so easy to get obsessed with Pirates, they're so cool! Seriously, I think Jack Sparrow is one of the best things ever to happen to the world =D

Anyways...Pirates 2- sooooo funny! Honestly, some of the scenes are so ridiculous and so stupid that you can't help but be entertained. As in the first film, everyone imaginable is out to kill Jack Sparrow (poor guy never gets a break), as in the first film, Will Turner is out to join forces with Jack Sparrow to save Elizabeth, and unlike in the first film Elizabeth crossdresses, knows how to use a sword, and gets to throw rocks.

It's such a great movie. Now I've just got to see it a few dozen more times and I'll be set to go! ^^

Was yesterday really the 4th of July??

It really didn't feel like it. No fireworks and rain, that's not how the 4th is supposed to be! I did go down town for the parade for a while. I really didn't watch the parade though, just looked around at the flea market. I actually ended up buying a couple of books that are in two different series I'm reading. They were a dollar each so how could I pass that up? I love books!

My Superman obsession has continued through the week, and I did end up buying the DVDs on Sunday at Best Buy. They actually had all the old movies on display in the front of the store so it didn't take long to find them =D Some of the scenes in those movies are so cheesy; that's why I love them! Superman! Fighting for truth, justice, and the American way!

Mandy and I were talking about seeing Superman Returns late tomorrow night, and if I can get in touch with Alyssa she's coming too!

Then "Pirates" is coming out on Friday, and of COURSE I'll have to see it. The first one was great, and Johnny Depp is in it. When Johnny Depp's in a film, that right there is reason to see it. Of course, as much as I love his acting, he has been in some terrible movies :cough: "The Libertine" :cough: Mandy, if you ever read this journal entry, I apologize but that movie is at the top of my "Worst movies I've seen in my life" list. Johnny Depp's acting was superb as always but the movie itself was not my cup of tea.

Well...we all are different, everyone's tastes are different. If we all were exactly the same life would be pretty boring.

For example, I find the video posted below amusing but someone else might.

What a week...

It's been a slightly eventful week. Between work, a date, pet sitting, and Superman, I've kept busy.

Work's gonna start to become a pain again because it's a new month, so I actually have to start trying to sell stuff in case I'm the one who gets secret shopped. I hate those! There's so much stuff you've got to remember to do and you have to do it with EVERY customer because you never know who's the secret shopper until a report comes back saying you failed. So, actually having to do work at work is something I'm not entirely looking forward to. But, on a brighter note, I get my paycheck this thursday!!

And yes, I did say that I went on a date (oh god, I'm glad I got it over with!) It was with a guy who works at Sears and kept coming into the chocolate shop and annoying me. To make a long, slightly embarrassing story short, he wasn't my type and he was slightly irritating so I kept trying to hint that I wanted him to leave me alone. Apparently I failed, cause he asked me out the next day. I felt kinda bad for him so I agreed but on the actual date showed no interest or enthusiasm so I think he's gotten the hint finally! Now he won't come into the chocolate shop and stare out me creppily while I try to close the store at night! Why can't I guy I'M interested in ask me out?? Why do I get all the weird ones??? Well, on a brighter note, at least I got a free lunch and movie (even if it was the Garfield movie. HE picked it out not me. I wanted to see "Click" with Adam Sandler, or "Cars" but NO!)

My sister and I have been pet sitting our neighbors animals for the last week. Extra cash is a good thing! And I'm sure going to need it, especially with the movies that are coming out this month! I'll probably living at the movie theater all of July. I saw the Superman movie in IMAX yesterday with my family--it was amazing! There were four scenes in the movie that were actually in 3D! It's the first time they've put a live action feature film into 3D so it was pretty cool! Not to mention the music is still as awesome as ever! The original John William's score was used and it sounded even bigger and better in the theater. I don't care what anyone says, I love Superman, he's definitely the best superhero ever! Don't try to disagree with me, especially if you haven't seen any of the Superman movies before. I used to watch the old movies all the time when I was a kid. It's been so long since I watched them I had almost forgotten how good they are. The guy that plays Superman in the new film is so hot! I must see it again! And I'll have to drag Alyssa and Mandy with me, of course!

I've decided that I need to go out and buy the first two superman movies on dvd. The crappy recording I have on vhs is just no good. And I can get both of them for the amazing price of $14.99 at Best Buy! Yep, I know what I'm doing today. =D

Yay! A day off of work! Makes me happy! =D Work's been almost unbearable lately because business has been slow. NO ONE buys chocolate during the summer, it's too hot, chocolate melts. So, we get a few customers in each hour and there's nothing to do but stand around and stare at nothing while waiting.

Today I need to go shopping with my sister so we can pick out gifts for my dad for father's day and my mom for her b-day. Father's day is what-sunday? Yay procrastination! Well, it shouldn't be as bad as when I gave him his b-day gift 2 WEEKS after his birthday :) I'm terrible. But in my defense I had had a really bad virus the days leading up to his birthday so I wasn't able to put it together.

Well...I really should shower so I can go do stuff later. But before I go, I've gotta post this link I found recently. New Car!

Yay! I got my new car today! And I got to drive it home from the dealer's and it was fun! It has a c.d. player and air conditioning, and it doesn't make scary noises when I drive it! =D The guy that sold it to us was soooo nice too, even cute in a geeky, goofy way ^^

For example, he was showing my dad and me some of the car's features and he pointed out that there's a latch inside the trunk that you can use to open it. So if someone gets stuck inside the trunk they can get out. He said "It works! I could even show you if you want!" I'm pretty sure he had just been joking but I told him I wanted him to get in, ya know, to make sure it would really work ;) and he actually did it! He climbed into the back, curled up in a ball, and my dad and I closed the trunk door. It was pretty funny, and it did work. Though, I think it would have been even funnier if he got stuck inside ^^

So, the new little Toyota Corolla is great! Very comfortable and now I can drive my friends places. I never wanted to in the old car 'cause I was afraid we'd all die in that thing. Now Mandy won't have to do all the driving.

Well...I'm gonna go find something to do to keep busy before going to work later. And just for amusement sake, I'm posting this. Trust me, you want to watch it! Ayame's pretty! =D Ah, I love Fruits Basket!

I HATE rainy weather ><

I gotta start getting ready for work soon but I thought I'd update my journal really quick.

So, what's new in my life? Well...not much actually ^^ I'm getting a new car on saturday! It's a toyota corolla for the family but I'll get to be the one who drives it most of the time, going to work and school in the fall. Yep! I recently got accepted into MassBay, so I'll be over there bugging alyssa! I can't wait! It'll be great going back to school. I never realized how much I liked school until I stopped going--I miss it! I wanna learn stuff!

I also really want to see "Aida" the musical. I've loved the music for a few years now (hence my journal icon)--soooo good! The story is kinda reminds me of Disney's Pocahontas, except Aida is a billion times better! I've gone and watched almost every performance recording of Aida that I could find on youtube.com. So I've watched a lot of the songs as they are performed in the play. And the videos are from the Broadway tour so they've got Adam Pascal (one of my favorite performers who's also in "Rent". That reminds me, I haven't forced alyssa to watch that yet ::jots down on 'To Do' list::!) and Heather Headley who has an awesome voice!

So...I decided that before I get ready for work I should update this here journal even though it's been kind of a crappy week.

Friday was great, I went with Mandy and Alyssa to see V for Vendetta as a beltated birthday thing and then Alyssa slept over. The movie was definitely interesting, kinda weird. V wearing an apron was definitely fashionable.

Alyssa's going to buy Kingdom Hearts 2, Alyssa's going to buy Kingdom Hearts 2, Alyssa's going to buy Kingdom Hearts 2, hahahahahahahahaha! I let her play it and now she's going to buy it-- my brilliant plan worked! I told her I'd go with her when she buys it so maybe next week we'll head over to the mall.

So friday was good but then the week gradually started to go bad. The weather has been gross, rainy and dreary. I'm like Kyo Sohma when it's rainy, I can't function at all and I just wanna sleep. I don't turn into a scary mutant bunny thing, though =)

So the weather's been bad, and then Chris Daughtry got voted off American Idol even though he was the most talented of the finalists. If Taylor Hicks wins I'm going to scream!! He has no talent, he's just popular because he flails around spastically on stage and people find it amusing. Of course, America will probably choose him as the next American Idol. This is after all, the same country that voted George W. Bush into office, but let's not open that can of worms.

Work's been okay, it's been a bit busy because of mother's day and today will probably be a little crazy. After tomorrow business will be really slow though, through the summer. That'll be kind of nice but might get a little boring at the same time.

Well, I'll let everyone reading this be the first to know that I'm back on my Backstreet Boys kick. I guess once you're a fan, you're always a fan. They're pretty cool guys, what can I say. After 5 years of hearing nothing from them, they released a group album last year, and now they're all working on solo albums on the side. I actually bought Brian Littrell's christian contemporary album yesterday and love it! He's my favorite bsb so I hope he gets plenty of recognition for his album.

I really suck at updating!

Yeah, it's been a while since I last updated. I guess the reason for that is part laziness and being busy. I FINALLY got a job working at Lindt (the chocolate shop) in the mall. So, I'm surrounded by HUNDREDS of chocolate bunnies a few days a week. Work's slow now but I assume it's going to be much more hectic closer to Easter--everyone's going to want their chocolate bunnies! It's so tempting to eat everything in sight while I'm working. Actually, I think I've gained 20 lbs just having to LOOK at all the chocolate!

Aside from working, not much is new.

Mandy came over the other night and we watched Howl's Moving Castle, which she had bought the night before. That movie's so great, I might just go out and buy it myself! It's one of those things that's so easy to become obsessed with. Like...Fruits Basket! I told Mandy this the other day and she got really excited, I still have to tell Alyssa.

I bought a manga. My first manga. I never thought I would ever read a manga or actually buy one in my life, but I did. It was the second Fruits Basket and I love it, I'll have to by the third one soon. BUT until I get some extra spending money to do that, I'm borrowing all of Mandy's Fruits Basket dvds.

Well...I saw Harry Potter AGAIN last night. I tried to resist the temptation but failed miserably. I wouldn't have been so tempted if I hadn't have had to park in the movie theater parking lot to go to the mall. Driving around the mall, trying to find a parking spot, on a Saturday afternoon, a couple weeks before Christmas is NOT a good idea. I spent literally 20 minutes stuck in traffic in the mall parking garage! >< So...I ended up parking over at the theater and my sister and I just walked over to the mall. Then we saw Harry Potter, and it was even better the 4th time! I'll probably see it one more time and Ayssa's coming! She was sick last time, it sounded like she had the same thing I got a few weeks ago. Stupid winter- makes everyone cold and sick! And miss out on Harry Potter ;)

Soo...I'm still in the process of getting a short story together. I've written a few drafts of some ideas that I think are pretty good. Most of my ideas are drama/ romance. I have a fantasy story idea that I've been playing around with too, but it wouldn't be good for the competition. It'd be better as a series.

I turned in a work application yesterday to work at Waldens in the mall. Mandy was working there yesterday and when I gave my application to the manager she says to him, "Hire her! She's my buddy!" :D So hopefully he'll listen to her, I need a job!! It'll be awesome if Mandy and I are working together, a lot more fun, too!

Well... I've gotta go shower, get Christmas cards ready to send, and write a bit.

An Eternity Later...

Wow! It really has been about an eternity since I last updated this loverly little journal. I guess I've been a little busy...leaving college is a lot of work and stress. I feel better now that I'm not at J&W anymore. That place just wasn't for me. I'll most likely end up going to Mass Bay for a while and taking some courses, AND getting a job 'o course! Now I'm starting ter talk like Hagrid, YAY! HARRY POTTER GOBLET OF FIRE ROCKS!!!! In IMAX it's probably the coolest thing ever. Next to Josh Groban extras on the Polar Express special edition DVD. "I believe!"

Aside from job hunting, I need to come up with a short story! The Morse Institute Library and TCAN are hosting a short story contest and if I can write a good enough story by the 16th of next month, I'm planning to enter. So far, I haven't come up with much. mostly just writing ideas down--it's proven to be a lot more difficult than I had anticipated. ugh....wish me luck! :D

Well...I think I'm gonna go try to write a little more. Something's got to come to me eventually. Now that I'm home from school I'll probably be updating this journal more often. TTFN

I've officially decided that I'm not sure whether or not I want to be a chef when I'm done with school. The first week of lab here was a lot of fun, now it's just getting annoying and I'm continually losing interest in the food career. Baking was a lot more enjoyable when I just cooked for my family or my friends. I have absolutely no enthusiasm in the kitchen here and instead of listening to the head chef's lecture on the best way to prepare flan, I'm writing stories in a notebook.

So what do I think I'd rather do than be a chef? Be a writer or teacher. I want to study literature. Instead of studying recipes and memorizing the method of preparation for making pie dough, I want to be studying words and classic novels, and memorizing vocabulary and lines from Shakespeare (I love Shakespeare.) It seems now that being a writer, grasping a better understanding of words and their meanings is more important and more fun than making sure your chocolate is cool, but not soooo cool that it becomes to hard to work with. It feels like it would be a heck of a lot more important to be a teacher and introduce kids to numbers, words, books, etc., than cooking pastries for people and making them fat! Especially in a world where obesity is a HUGE problem because people eat out waaaay too much!

Now, I'm not saying that I don't love to bake-because I do. It's just that I hate being told that what I make has to look a certain way or be prepared in a certain way. I hate working in a time frame where I have to get a pie done at a specific time. That, I guess is what the cooking industry is like all the time. And I never understood that until now. I talked with my parents about all this a few nights ago. They told me to hold it out until at least the end of the semester ('cause that's all been paid for.) If I still feel unsure about this, than there's a good chance I'll drop out, go home, work for a year or however long it takes me to discover what it is that I really want to do.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if being here at Johnson & Wales was something I ever wanted. I feel like I kind of rushed into this decision because I was a senior and high school and really had no ideas or stable plans for what I wanted to do once I graduated. It was like I just said 'hey! I like to cook! Why not do that?' Now I just feel stuck. I don't really want to be here but I have no choice but to wait until the semester ends. I feel like I made such a big mistake and all of this is a waste of time. I hope everything gets better soon.

Well...school is going ok. Classes are fun but I feel really unexperienced. I know I'm supposed to, that's why I am going to school after all, but it seems like everyone else in my class knows exactly what they're doing and how to do it. I'm soo slow. That's not a horrible thing, I guess but unfortunately, for the field I want to go into I have to be speedy. It's only the 2nd day of class, maybe I should wait and see what happens...I'm going to improve! And I'm taking knife skills so I can cut things awesomely!

I will not let my cold stand in the way! I didn't really acknowledge it when my instructor advised my class to take multivitamins because "sickness spreads easily on campus" and now, I'm sick. SOMEONE gave me their cold and I'm going to find out who it was, and then...throw pie dough at them! I made plenty of it today, so it'll be no problem ;)

I finally got in contact with Mandy! We're iming right now. I miss home! I'm ready for a school break.
I've gotta go eat dinner now, I think I'm keeping Luisa waiting.

Alone at College, Day 1

So, I moved into my dorm room only yesterday and I'm already ready to leave. My roomates and I lucked out, though. I guess there are supposed to be four girls to a room, but we only have three. Like Jackie's mom said "shh...no one has to know." Living here will take getting used to...sharing a bathroom with every other girl on campus, and sleeping across the hall from guys who love to blare their music at 3:00 in the morning and wake me up ><

There are some good things too, I guess. Providence is a nice town. Luisa and I walked around downtown today and had breakfast, shopped a little, and browsed the Providence mall which is HUGE. I couldn't believe that it didn't have a book store, though. What will I do!? The library here is really nice, most people have left so it's really quiet now.

Classes offcially start on the 6th and I'm feeling anxious about that. I'm eager to start baking and learning all the proper cooking techniques BUT I'm not looking forward to having to make sure that my uniform is perfect! If your shirt is wrinkled, they'll send you home. If your shoes aren't polished, they'll send you home.

I miss home, I miss my family and my friends, and I miss my Josh Groban VHS tape that's stuck in the VCR of my parents broken television set. I was planning to bring that here with me. I hope my parents can get it out, unharmed.

VBS is fun!

VBS really is fun with the exception of the one insane six year old that I have in my group. He throws things, he hits things, and he kicks things. He's a little terror. The other kids are great, though and some of them are sooo cute! I love doing the Vacation Bible school, it's just something I enjoy doing every summer. And I've been participating in it for...6 years now, I think. The songs they sing over there are so darn catchy. I get them stuck in my head and can remember them years later :)

I am FINALLY getting my driver's license in a couple of weeks! No more driver's ed., no more stressing over having to take a stupid driving test, I'm DONE!^^ Actually, when I took my test again on Saturday it was kinda fun. I got there at 6:00 and started talking to a girl who was also taking her test for the second time. She was really nice, and then the two of us started talking to 2 boys (one of them was getting all upset because we had to stand and wait so long to take our tests.) And then finally, another girl (my age) came and joined our group too. So the 5 of us stood around and talked for 3 hours about rules of the road, scary driver's ed. instructors we had, and what we had each done to fail our road test the 1st time. I think talking to those kids made me ease up, because when it came time for me to take the test, I was hardly nervous at all. And the instructor I got was ten thousand times nicer than the last one!

After I took my road test, I went to the Museum of Science with Mandy and Alyssa and had an awesome time! EXCEPT for that 3D movie with the sharks ::shivers:: The butterflys were pretty, I like butterflys a lot more than sharks. After the museum, Mandy came over and we watched Jurassic Park and ate a lot of cookies!

I think I'm going to read Les Miserables. It's a thousand and some pages long, but I love the musical, it's a classic tale, and I've read and heard only good things about it. 1,463 pages...wish me luck! ^^

I HATE getting colds! They're evil and no fun!! >< Coughing and sneezing and constantly blowing your nose-AHHHHH!!!!

So anyways...

I got Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince!! I wasn't able to go to the party on friday night BUT I did go and get the book at 1 o' clock in the morning. I have Mandy to thank for that :) She was nice enough to drive me over to the mall. So I got the book and have read most of it --it's awesome!^^

Testing for college on friday wasn't so bad. It was all on computer so it didn't take very long to finish. I was also told by one of the J&W counselors that I'll be taking a class on hot and cold desserts and Intro. to cake decorating! I can't wait!

On friday I also went to the motor vehicle place in framingham and pre-paid for my driver's license (my test is August the 6th, I'm a tad nervous...) I still have a few weeks until then, though and I'm going to be driving a little bit on vacation with my family, so I'll get some more practice. Ah...vacation...I'm starting to get excited about it. It'll feel nice to get away for a little while :)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a strange and bizzar movie. I've seen it twice and still can't decide whether I like it or not. It's really funny and Johnny Depp is hilarious but it's so weird and a little creepy...

So, summer is half way over and college seems to be rapidly approaching. I'm feeling a bit apprehensive. Dorm life will be a very new experience and I can tell already that I'm gonna get really homesick very fast.

My Throat hurts...

I hope I'm not getting sick. I've been pretty busy this week. Mostly I worked. I went to Lindsey's house last night. Spencer was over there so I got to see him. I spent some time with him last weekend too. There was a TCAN concert and I went to that with Mandy and Spencer. Several teenage bands played and they were all really good. Spencer's going back to Georgia today, I'm gonna miss him so much!! He's gonna try to come visit again at X-mas, though :)

Work this week was alright. My job's annoying because I still can't decide whether I like it or not. Sometimes it drives me crazy and I never look forward to going, but it can be a lot of fun. This morning for example, I danced, sang and played a tamborine for a group of alzhiemer's residents. Then a few nurses came in and started dancing with each other. It was like a big party...in a nursing home. It's a job that gets really frustrating at times but it makes me feel really good when I can make a resident over there smile or laugh. It makes it all worth it when you know you're making some sort of positive difference in someone's life. I'm going to miss some of the residents soo much when I go back to school this fall. Mandy says she might try to get a job over there in the laundry department. They need the help but I can't imagine that doing laundry could be more fun than playing a tamborine!

So...what's going on over the next couple days??

Well, tomorrow Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes out!!! Johnny Depp is the greatest actor in the entire world and anyone who denies it will DIE!!!
Unfortunately though, before I can see the movie, I have to take a little trip up to Providence, to take an assessment test at my lovely college. A math and reading comp. test, oh goodie... :( AND I also might go to the Harry Potter party tomorrow night at WaldenBooks at the mall because...

So, while I'm reading the new Harry Potter book, I've gotta have refreshment. So, I'm going to make butterbeer, buy some Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans and eat ALL of them, even the Vomit Flavored ones, and make treacle tart! Or maybe pumpkin pasties...OR cauldron cakes...OR PUMPKIN JUICE!!
